Ros's reading room was originally Berkshire County Council's Shire Hall. The building, with its wide corridors, vaulted ceilings, cornice moldings and original elevator shaft, has been carefully restored to its original glory. To revive Shire Hall's charm of yesteryear, its boardroom, Eden and imposing mantelpiece with wooden carvings on the doors and mantelpiece have all been restored to their former glory. One of Reading's finest hotels, The Roseate Reading is a culmination of opulence and warmth.
